GRIT Curling League

An opportunity for teens to improve their curling skills,

have fun, and make new friends during an eight-week league!

Experience curling at different clubs and learn from other coaches.

GRIT Curling league can provide pathways to form competitive teams,

or curl with competitive players.​

Teams can be formed as a foursome from either

 - signing up four friends together; or

 - signing up as an individual and being placed on a team

​

 

Whether the teen wants to enjoy seven straight weeks of fun curling in seven different clubs or are looking to find additional ice time to play other curlers, there is something for everyone!

Registration Requirements

•Ages 13-19 (with minimum one year of junior curling experience)

•Eight-week commitment plus end of league banquet

•$100 registration fee per team or $25/person

•Competitive and Non-Competitive teams welcome

Sign up as an individual or as a team (registrants do not all need to be members of the same club)

Rules of Play

•8-end games, following Curling Canada’s Rules, minus the no-tick rule

•We will follow U18 Competitive coach interaction rules to keep pace of play

•2hr and 15 minute time limit (club dependant)

•5 minute warm-up

•Both teams warming up at the same time

•Each player may throw two rocks up and two rocks back

•No extra ends, a tie is a tie

•LSD will be thrown by any one player on the team at the end of all game play

•This will not break the tie for the game, but will be used to determine any ties for placement at the end of the six weeks.

•Wins = 10 points  Ties = 5 points  and 1 point for each end taken

•If a team concedes, they concede the point/end for remaining ends

•Scores will be posted on the website weekly, except for the last week.
